Out of an abundance of caution and to prioritize the health and safety of our guests and campus, the AESHM Internship Fair was not held in 2020. Check back in August for an update on the 2021 fall fair.

AESHM Internship Fair

The Department of Apparel, Events, and Hospitality Management (AESHM) hosts the AESHM Internship Fair-Daily Campus Visit for high school seniors who are exploring the Apparel, Merchandising, and Design, Event Management, and Hospitality Management majors. During this visit, you will attend the annual AESHM Internship Fair, giving you the opportunity to network with current students and learn about their recent internship experiences.

Register

To participate in this customized Daily Visit, please register for the Daily Campus Visit (Option A) via the campus visit system. Your selection of Apparel, Merchandising, and Design, Event Management, or Hospitality Management as your intended major will register you for the major-specific academic information session and the AESHM Internship Fair. You will spend the morning with Admissions learning about Iowa State and your afternoon will be spent with the AESHM department.

Cost: There is no cost to attend

Parking: Parking is available for a small fee at the Memorial Union ramp on Lincoln Way.

Space is limited. Online registration will be available until capacity has been reached. If you have questions about registering or being placed on a waiting list contact Dawn Risdal at humsci@iastate.edu.

AESHM Internship Fair – Daily Campus Visit

Tentative Schedule

8:45 am Check-in with Admissions Staff

9:00 am Preview of Iowa State – Information session with an admissions counselor which provides an overview of Iowa State, academic programs and services, and the application process.

9:45 am Campus tour – A walking tour around the Iowa State campus with a student tour guide.

11:00 am Residence hall tour & lunch – A student tour guide will take you through a residence hall room, a commons area, and a dining center. Lunch will be included on this tour when classes are in session.

1:10 pm Academic information session – When you schedule the visit, select Apparel, Merchandising, and Design, Event Management, or Hospitality Management.

2:10 pm AESHM internship fair – Network with current Apparel, Merchandising, and Design, Event Management, and Hospitality Management students to learn how their internship experiences are preparing them to be successful in their future careers.

3:10 pm Free time – Spend additional time at the AESHM internship fair or select an optional afternoon session when register for your campus visit.
